Design Narrative
The Stoop is a hypothetical unique and mysterious coffee shop that takes inspiration from 1940s noir detective films. The challenge was to make the ambiance for the company is dark and moody like the films but also for the hipster target audience.
With the inspiration of the streets of New York in the era of private eyes and femme fatales, research into detective noir films was conducted. Decidedly, the logo is written in a typewriter font to mimic the typewriters from the time period. There is a small addition of a small pigeon perched on the “p” wearing a fedora, looking downward to mimic the mysterious and intriguing nature of noir detective films. The color scheme of the coffee shop consists of black, white, and dark browns, creating a monochromatic and timeless feel.
Menu Design
The menu is simple, yet elegant. It is contained with in a manila envelope to create an immersive experience for the customer. Turning ordering a latte into a secret detective mission. The menu features classic coffee drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos, as well as a selection of baked goods and pastries.
The Stoop Coffee Shop is more than just a place to grab a cup of joe; it’s an experience prepares you to take on that next big case.
